The Love of Books

Cedar is committed to enhancing education and general knowledge by promoting a love of books in young children. One of Cedar’s biggest projects was to build a library for a primary school that caters to under-privileged children. We converted an under-used room into a place where children can experience the joy of having a story read to them and where, when they are older, they can lose themselves in fantasy worlds about heroes and far-off places!

Cedar Staff Has Fun for a Cause

The staff held a Charity Day where teams had to make and sell products to other members of the staff. What started out a purely charity drive turned into a team competition where teams dressed up, decorated their tables and sold items based on their theme. The team who raised the most was Halloween team, who sold eye-ball jelly and cauldrons filled with spider sweets. Other items on sale included raffles for hug hampers, candles, cards and a lot of scrumptious food and nibblies! All the staff worked hard and gave generously and, between about 40 staff members, we raised enough money to install two new geysers in an old age home where the residents were washing with cold water.
